Meet every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m for all kids classes and 6:30 for all adult classes.

Concept: Teaching and sharing self-defense through traditional Shorin Ryu Martial Arts ,Kata, sport, and building positive mental attitudes for our community.

Our Students Need School  Supplies!

The “Supply our Students” program, (S.O.S.) provides new school supplies to eligible Pre-K through 12th grade students within the Stafford Municipal and Fort Bend Independent School Districts. To sign up for the school supply packets eligible residents in east Fort Bend County must come to East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry located at 425 Stafford Run in Stafford on Monday, July 14 between 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

In order to sign up for the school supplies residents must provide proof of residency (utility bill) and proof of school enrollment (report card) for each student. The school supply packets will be distributed on Monday, August 11th between the hours of 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Last year, the S.O.S. program outfitted 460 students with new school supplies and backpacks. The S.O.S. program helps families who are struggling to make ends meet. Donations from the community help make certain that this program continues. The average cost per packet has risen over 8% to more than $30 per packet this year. If you would like to help the S.O.S. program continue its service to deserving students please make a donation to East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Inc. – S.O.S. program, P.O. Sugar Land, Richmond, Baytown getting new ZIPs
Postal Service says the code changes, starting on July 1, will help it accommodate growth in the three areas

More than half of the 78,400 business and residential customers in Sugar Land, Richmond and Baytown will get new ZIP codes this summer in a move to allow postal officials to keep up with growth in those areas. Click here for more...

“Summer is here, where are the kids?”

The YMCAs of Fort Bend County have so much to offer children and families during the long summer months!

Swim Lessons: The YMCA has been teaching swimming lessons for more than a hundred years. Group and private lessons are available for children beginning as early as six months through adult.

Summer Youth Sports Leagues: Join a summer sports league and stay active this summer! Baseball, T-Ball, Track & Field and more!

Sports Skills Camps: Sports camps will be offered throughout the summer! Examples of camps include: Baseball, Soccer, Football, Basketball, etc.

Summer Day Camps: Twelve themed weeks throughout the summer. Camp runs from 9am-4pm. Drop off as early as 6:30am and pick up as late as 6:30pm.

Sleep-Away Camps: For kids ages 5-16. Choose from Camp Pine Tree in Spring, Camp Cullen at Lake Livingston, or Camp Hamman Ranch in Bandera.

2008 Sugar Land Day Camp

The coolest way to beat the summer heat has come again.  Sugar Land’s annual Day Camp kicks off on June 9, 2008.  Join this 11 week long camp that includes entertaining trips, imaginative arts & crafts, and recreational sports.  To top it all off, you get a great chance to build long lasting friendships!  The trips range from observing the greatest baseball team ever, The Houston Astros, to a full day of water fun at the Galveston Schlitterbahn Water park; there is something for everyone. 

Camp location: Sugar Land Community Center, 200 Matlage Way, Sugar Land, TX  77478

The camp runs from Monday-Friday weekly, with No Camp held on Friday, July 4th.  Kids will be split into groups by age, 5-8 year olds & 9-13 year olds.  Sugar Land Residents and Non-Residents can register now by going by the office at 200 Matlage Way or by telephone if paying by Master Card or Visa.
